Social media meme - I manage the website, social media, and print production for the Des Moines Pastoral Counseling Center. This is a sample of a message for mental health awareness month. Copywriting, Art Direction:
I created this ad for the StageWest playbill season. The forks image seemed perfect to promote healthy food and cooperation in an artful way.  With huge thanks to an excellent designer.
Making this was extra fun because one of my colleagues is an actress with the company.




This plaza is shown from the perspective of a 5th floor balcony. It is the Good Samaritan Quilt Plaza on the campus of the Baltimore headquarters for Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service and Lutheran World Relief.  I conceptualized and worked with a designer and architects to install the plaza in the style of a quilt pattern, "Many Trips Around the World." It connects organizational mission with building design, and will generate at least $500,000 of revenue for the organizations while honoring the legacy of the the thousands of quilters across the U.S. who have historically supported people in need around the world.

This was a poster to promote an interfaith event to remember 9/11.
The elements of image, tone, and headline worked together well.
To complete this project, I found an awesome graphic to match the theme and
hired a fabulous designer and speedy printer.

This is a handbook I produced, along with an amazing creative team,
for a nation-wide network of volunteers that I recruited, trained, and supported for an international aid organization.

I edited this newsletter for two years for the Des Moines Area Religious Council.
With thanks to an awesome creative team who worked with me, this newsletter won a Religious Communicator's Council DeRose Hinkhouse Award of Excellence in 2011 and 2012. Click here for full pdf.



Branding and Web Content Development:
November 2010 -- This is the "look" I created to promote the food related work of the Des Moines Area Religious Council, with the help of an amazing creative team.
It forms the basis for the website I developed and edited, MovetheFood.org.
I hired and collaborated with a wonderful small business to fine tune the marketing launch and create the website.

July 2011 -- This is the brochure I produced to
tell about the MovetheFood , a food initiative of the Des Moines Area Religious Council.
A key goal was to emphasize the commitment to providing fresh and healthy food,
in contrast to the traditional notion of food pantry inventory.

This is the 2011 holiday edition of the interfaith newsletter I edited for the Des Moines Area Religious Council.

Copywriting, Art Direction:
I researched, wrote, and produced this annual report for a men's residential recovery center.
This piece also served as my field project for my Master of Fine Arts Degree in Creative Writing.
I still love the cover picture that my designer and I chose together.

Fundraising, Integrated Marketing: 
This award nominated integrated marketing campaign helped increase number of holiday online donations
by over 200% in one year, with a 100% increase of revenue. 
The golden snowflake image provided a focal point to invite interfaith and secular audience to generosity. 
Related media included a gift card, a poster newsletter centerfold, a facebook app, and a landing page
